If you have a webcam then you can hold up a barcode to it and the website will look it up. It's handled in Flash so there's no software to download. It's pretty neat.

Excellent find Chug and thanks for sharing!
However, I can't get it to work. Probably because things aren't sharp enough that close up and I don't see a way right now of adjusting that. I'll try again later though when I have more time.

If the barcode is clear then it should see it. Make sure the lines aren't being blurred together.

I have found fresh webcam barcode scanner - Katanshi Barcode Reader It works very well with my logitech 9000 pro.
