Probably more than a year or two ago now, There was a member on IEX, I think he went under the name BOFH. Myself and another member (Ref'x) had several run ins with him. My main problem with him was his constant spew of lies on the board, mainly about his identity. In several posts where he insisted that his name was "Dev", I told him to stop being an idiot and that I knew his real name was Patrick Burnell.

I guess it has now become apparent why he felt the need to lie about his name and got so defensive when anyone used his real one.

Interesting... But are you sure it's BOFH? I did a little bit of searching, and I did not find where he said his name was "Dev." Also, I couldn't find "Dev Corvin" or "Patrick Burnell" mentioned anywhere else on this board.

Yeh 100% Certain. I know that this is a serious subject, so I wouldnt have posted it if there was any shred of doubt in my mind.

I'm ashamed to say that most of these posts were made in my less mature phase. So my arguments with him
will more than likely have been deleted.

Although he didn't know, I actually had the misfortune of knowing him in real life (Through school) so I know for certain that this is the same guy.

::Edit::
After a quick search, it seems I wasn't the only one - He was referred to by his real name in post22

I didn't know him as Dev or Patrick, but I certainly knew him as BOFH and how unfortunate for him to be involved with such matters.

rofl, there are wondrous people everywhere. Too bad I never had a chance to talk to him, I love talking to psychopaths. I find it interesting to investigate their minds without their direct knowledge.

Ah well, too bad we don't execute noobs these days.

You know what, when I was about 16 or so and was active on this board alot he used to IM my girlfriend (at the time) over MSN and try to get nude pictures. He did end up sending nudes to her, which we kept for some blackmail. lol.

Jesus Christ! I disappear for awhile and see drama. But yeah, I remember this guy and he was...well...off. I didn't really understood the whole cat rapist thing as well. It just proves to show you that you never really know people these days. I had a friend of mine that turned out to be a complete psycho and tried to take a little girl to the men's bathroom years ago. I remember when another friend called me to tell me about it, I about shit myself, thinking about how many times this guy spent the night at my house when I was living with my parents and my little brother and sister.

two words:

HOLY FUCK!

he was always a little nutty in my opinion. I hope after he serves his time or whatever he's required to do he learns to shape up a bit. Not just for society, but for himself. Nobody wants to live their life being in trouble and ridiculed constantly.

Yeah I saw this in the news as well, Jay forwarded me the link.

I actually had a Skype call with him one time when he was doing a PodCast about Windows Longhorn/Vista when it was in the works.

Still hard to believe, but yeah, that is certainly him.

It has always been my belief that we don't really know anyone. I don't think its our generation, but its always been this "thing" since the beginning of time. There was once a man very close to our family about 5 years ago when we realized the horrific things that he did. He was a great close friend of my grandfather since my mother was a child, knew me since I was a baby as well. It was 5 years ago when the man killed himself, which we all thought was strange since he had a beautiful wife, perfect children, a great job and tons of money. But the darkness inside him was realized when it was released by the police and the news that this same man for years were stalking women, breaking into their houses and....well you can figure out the rest. He finally got caught, doing the same thing with another person who was close to our family. The evidence was high and he bailed himself out of jail, facing a life sentence. The man was already in his 60's, and not much more time left for him since he was at that age. He lost everything, the respect of friends and family, his wife, his children when they realized he was like Mr. Brooks (that Kevin Costner movie). So he killed himself to get out.

That is when I learned that you don't really know people. It can be a close friend, family member, or whatever. But you don't really know them. I also believe that everyone in this world, has this "darkness" inside of them. That everyone has a darkside. However, most of us are able to have the ability to overcome those things that try to tempt us to be overwhelmed by our demons. Yet there are some that do not have that ability and then head down a very dark, twisted, and negative path.

Like I said before...HOLY FUCK...but also, it breaks my heart in ways that I cannot explain. I just hope that he will get what he deserves, gets help for his problems, and comes to terms with his horrific crimes. I also hope that his victims are able to move on from these horrific events on a positive path and forget about what he did. Some can, but some cannot and are forever changed by these things.

A friend of mine when we were 18, found out that his younger sister who was 8 years old at the time was molested by a 14 year old kid down the street. We were hanging out when she came home, sat down in the living room quiet and then started crying. She ran to my friend (her big brother) and cried telling him what that 14 year old kid did to her, thinking that it was her fault. It took everything that I had (cause my friend was/is a very very big guy) to keep him from running down the street and killing the kid. We called the police and they got the kid. Found out from police a few days later that apparently this kid has been doing it to others for the past few months, but was not able to get a good description. He is still in jail as we speak and will be in there for a long long time. Luckily, my friend's sister was young enough to move on and not remember much of what happened and she is perfectly fine now. Yet, we still worry about her that maybe something will come back to her memory.

These type of individuals that take advantage of innocent people are literally evil, beyond my own explanation. I say cut their balls and their dick off. But that is just me.

...all I can do now is just pray on this and hope that justice will be served.
