Greetings
I'm looking for what codecs I need to install on Win7 to play .3gp video file from a blackberry phone. Also anything else that may be needed for videos that don't seem to have sound etc. I've got BS Player installed with the ffdshow codec pack but still have issues with some vids.

www.shark007.net - win7 codec pack and x64 extenstions

Not sure on the .3gp stuff, but it does the trick on everything I have thrown at it.

VideoLAN can also play 3gp files.

Wow! Thanks guys!

Now do I really need to install the 32bit stuff, or can I just go with the x64 extensions only? I'm running Win7 Pro and didn't know there is/was suposed to be two media players. How do I get/find/launch the x64 WMP? ...Or am I totally off base on this?

Windows 7 x64 launches the 32-bit Windows Media Player by default. However, you could make a shortcut to either one:

64-bit:
C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe

32-bit:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe

Ah! ...I had a funny feeling that was a stupid question, but I've been so pressed for time here lately I just can't think any more.

I'll just install the whole shebang & be done with it then.

Thanks guys

The Shark007 link Illrigger gave worked just fine for the WPM .3gp combo ... and resolved my other issues as well.

As far a Win7 WMP hang, I've never seen one ... unless the vid itself was bad, and then it would hang regardless of what it was played on/with.
