Put your xp disk in, and then gointo safe mode with a console (or if there is a console on the disk) boot into that. And use the ChkDsk command.

Reboot with XP disk and boot with the cd. Instead of hitting "Enter" hit "R" to enter "Recvoery Console." From there you should be able to run 'chkdsk' and anything else that would be necessary.

No offense, but this is one of the funniest things that I have heard in a long time. A console is a way to enter information manually, if you wanted a basic definition. I.E.::When in Windows you can open up a DOS Prompt, well, that's a console. It allos you to, in some ways, interact more directly with the OS.

Do a system repair. Use a floppy if you have to. Then do the emergency cd repair. If you can boot in to safemode go to run: sfc /scannow :)

On the 24th, you said you fixed it.

Anyway, try a repair install through the console or take out the drive, and take it to a friend and backup your data you want to keep. Then format the thing. And for a future install, slipstream a new download of SP1 into XP and make a new disc.
