Discussions in the sanctuary

Ok, we have our sub-forum now for a couple of weeks, we know how it works, time for some guidelines...

For the moment, I would like to stress on two different things:

1) Avoid becoming personal towards other members. Flaming is not allowed anyway on our board, but sometimes political discussions can get heated, and some people seem to "forget" the flaming rule.

2) Stop posting extremely long posts. This is the internet, we remain interested for 15 seconds tops. Keep that in mind. Try to look at this board as a discussion in a local pub, you don't bring complete chapters of textbook material into those discussions.

3) It's always better to discuss issues with facts to back them up. You are encouraged to post links to elements that back up your claims. However, please refrain from quoting complete articles off other websites, you may quote small, relevant parts of them and provide a link to the full article at the end of your post.

And I would like to ask you guys to stop using the quote/reply button to respond to extremely long posts. Alter the quote so that only the relevant part for your answer remains. Scrolling down a quoted huge post is even more depressing then seeing that huge post in the first place

I don't think Kouby and I are the type of mods that will alter/delete members posts very fast, but I also know we can change that behaviour if needed :>

Temporrary no posting allowed in the political section is recomended 1 day after during and before voting day. This is just to keep things calm. :)

No way! There's nothing wrong with an active forum. :D

You might want to keep a close eye on it then. Things might get real nasty.
