I think its real, I've heard of submersion cooling before but its really expensive if you use the branded substance for it. I remember reading though that you can use some kind of oil inplace of the branded stuff, and I think it might have vegetable oil. It makes sence as long as its nonconductive and you keep any moving parts out of it.

I think it's real too, but it's funny still. Can't get past the idea of accidentally "frying" your PC cause the oil got too hot. LOL, cracks me up every time I think of a deep-fried PC.

hmm well they do that for cars so why not comps, but then again im not going to run in their and pore oil over my nice 64bit setup now am i

It should go 16 trillion processes between oil changes
Hmm, I have seen a video where someone completely submerged a mainboard in a nonconductive liquid, and it worked fine (obviously, fan was not in the liquid)

that's why he used a Pentium II setup
Strange if you ask me. Oil as far as I know is not a very effective cooling substance. Cars use it for lubrication not for cooling.

well anything to disapate the heat would work... its a pretty good idea, I would how they got the idea... "hey lets drop my computer in to a vat of oil... hmm I am sure it would work real well..." lol

Probably in school "Vegetable oil, for example, does not conduct electricity" ... then they get the idea.
