I was doing my daily check of CNN, and from this article, I see that space shuttle Discovery is still on schedule to launch tomorrow (Wednesday, July 13th) at 3:51 PM.

I know that, like many of you, I'll will be taking time out of my day to watch it make a SUCCESSFUL liftoff. Especially after the almost 2.5 year gap since the fatal Columbia disaster.

Will they be showing this on TV? And if so, which channel? CNN?

I'd definately like to watch this.

Does anyone have a link for a NetStream for it's takeoff?

It will be an 8:30pm takeoff for any Brits on the board, i'll be watching it too, good luck to the crew, and unlucky for them having to go up in such a tin of shit...
Taco Bell
@Sinbad: Yeah, I'm sure all of the news networks will be covering it, and CNN should definitely have it.

@Quactaur: Not sure as I haven't looked yet, but I would be interested in this as well.

Hrm, if anyone knows/has a feed, it would be much appreciated. The BBC are doing pretty up-to-the-minute reporting on the launch, so they might do a live-feed, or else will show the launch online after take-off.

We might not be getting a launch after all:

QUOTE (NASA Launch Director Mike Leinbach)
for some reason did not behave today and so we're going to have to scrub this launch attempt

---

So appreciate all we've been through together, but this one is not going to result in a launch attempt today,

Ironic that it turns out from the fucking fuel tank, which they have renovated, refitted and tested countlessly, and not the weather, as thought before. sad.gif

*sigh* this is gona build up a lot of pressure on NASA as they'd probably want this re-used drain pipe back in space ASAP but now this?

Why is this stuff not checked out before it's placed on the pad? You would think Nasa would learn.
