I thought the same thing when I first heard about this last week.

Looking at his filmography, I noticed there a couple things I would have seen him in (Road to Perdition, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider), but I certainly don't know him by name.

Ironically, you just named last 2. I do hope you're aware that James Bond is a francise that's been in existance since 1961. And even in the 2 accurate titles you named, USSR wasn't even involved.

Frankly, this is a surefire way to blast a hole in the whole franchise. Moneypenny was a staple bond character. And Q....the original Q, Desmond Llewelyn, who was in all but 2 bond movies until his retirement/death. You can't cut Q out. They tried it once in Live and Let Die, and the fans were so pissed that that they brought him back right away. One of the best things about Bond movies was the Q/Bond relationship.

at least they did the smart thing and kept Quentin Tarantino from being the director, although if he was Pierce Brosnan would have been in it. can you imagine what the movie would be like with Tarantino as director????

I think Daniel Craig was an OK choice for Bond. Let's face it, he's still got time to beef up for the role, and not to mention, it's not his muscels that make him Bond, but his gadgets, and I'm sure he'll have some kick ass new ones for this film. It's been too long since the last Bond film. I must say though, at least it's a Brit again, not someone trying to look like a Brit.

Connery was propably the best, and Brosnan 2nd. Let's just hope this Daniel Craig, can entertain us as much as previous ones.
