wow man! glad to see you're not worse for wear.
btw, you should have listened to the guy who told you to stay in the truck. he was worried you had a back injury, and moving you without paramedics present would have been a BAD idea.

Glad you're okay!
A few days ago I saw these two cars try to get into eachother's lane and they hit and nearly caused a major accident (now this is CA's 7 lane freeways, remember). Nobody else got involved but now I've been noticing so many more people giong extremely fast and inbetween lanes...
On the child amber signs, they now say
"Arrive Alive, Drive Safely".
Edit: don't worry about your car too much, you'll probably get a better car between insurance money and the lawsuit.

Man I know how it is to feel extremely lucky in a car accident like that. Dad, little brother, and I were going to church a few years back. For some reason, me and brother both were on good terms and decided to sit in the back seat with no one in the front passenger seat. That turned out to be a good thing as when we slid off the road on the snowy road the front passanger door was crushed near all the way to the middle of the car. Nobody was hurt too bad.
Glad your alright though man. Scary stuff indeed.

Well, I too am just glad you came out alright. i don't know you very well, but you seem like a good guy, and let's just thank God that you came out of this without much more serious injuries. Sorry about your car, and I hope your system isn't too badly beaten either. Sue that man for whatever you can, because he should be. I just started driving a year ago, and I hope this isn't what I have to look forward to. I've seen my fair share of crashes (some may have been accidents, but a lot were just plain crashes) driving to North Austin with my mom to school, and it's amazing what people do to save some time. Let us know how things work out. I know I've got a prayer for you.

That's a bad story, I hope you make a full recovery and that you get your damage (both physical and material) paid for.
Still, although I understand why you're angry, I see no reason to sue the guy who caused the accident. I mean, I'd be happy just to be alive and to have my expenses paid for. And an apology would be nice too but as far as I can see the other guy didn't meant to be involved in this accident either. You don't know why he fell asleep or didn't pay attention and the reason why he isn't calling might be fear from your reaction or shame. Hell, I'd be ashamed.
I've been into a traffic accident with my bike as well and I was also lucky to be alive. A guy ignored a stop sign and hit me in the side but I wasn't angr y at the driver because he never meant to hit me. What did make me angry though is that he sued me because he claimed I was riding my bike too fast... go figure.

good luck, and, glad you made it out alive.
The most important thing is that you made it out alive. The pain is only temporary.
Glad to hear you're alright.
Btw, exactly what highway did this happen on?
Just wondering because I live in Lawrenceville, GA.
I am glad you are ok. Make sure that guy never gets his license back.
Kepp us posted so we know you are still ok.

Hey buddy,
I'm glad you got out alright. I'm on the first aid squad, so I've seen a few accidents that had less physical damage than you, but the passengers weren't as lucky as you.
I've been reading everyone's comments, and between those, and my own experience, I just wanted to add a few thoughts.
1. Value each day. As your experience showed us, our own safe actions may not be the only things involved.
2. Always wear a seatbelt. I know 2 kids that would have survived with nothing more than whiplash. Instead, 1 was tossed out of his Jeep Wrangler. The other (Wrangler as well), was tossed against a tunnel wall.
3. If you see an accident, and the driver starts to vanish. TRY to get the license plate. This will not only hold the person accountable for their criminal actions, but bring down car insurance due to anonymous hit and runs, etc.
4. Please be willing to testify, etc. I know it takes time out of your schedule, but it will help out someone. Think of how good it would feel if someone hit your car, and they were caught by a random stranger. (What goes around, comes around).
I'm sorry to preach based off of your incredible story. I've seen alot of stuff, and it can get to you.
Anyway...I'm glad you're alright. Make sure you push for this fucker to get his.

Glad you're okay MoshNet! Nowhere near as significant of an accident, but my girlfriend's cousin was hit by a drunk driver this weekend. She's fine, but it was enough to knock her out for a bit. The asshole left the scene...but! He hit her so hard that his license plate was imprinted on her car. Turns out this would be his 3rd DWI, plus he left the scene and there was another thing he's getting charged with. I guess he's getting something like 3 years and some huge ass fines. I laugh at the dumbass.

Pic update: My father said they will arrive by today at 2:15 pm.
No way I can lose. The guy already admitted fault. Also, I hurt like hell. My back and neck hurt so bad. I had this girl rubbing my neck, and I almost creamed myself. I am on like 3 medications, and I hate it. I miss my old life. This guy deserves to die, I wish I owned a shot gun. His address is on the report, feel free to send him hate mail and naked pictures of men.
Thanks guys for everything. I never experienced an accident this bad. I always seen them on the road and thought ..daaaamn that car is f-ed up, but never thought about the people who were in them. Now I know. I cant even drive now Im afraid a car will cross the center line and hit me. I keep swirving every time I see a car, hell Im gonna cause an accident.
Anyway, thanks for the support, I need it. Like I said, I am anxious to get these pics up so people can see what a hulk I am

I was looking at my ass i nthe mirror last night, and I saw, "MADE FROM TITANIUM AND ALLOY METALS" stamped on it, no lie.
Posting his address online is just about as low as not giving a ring to apologise and explain. If not even lower. And then you even request hatemail to be sent to him!
I think you need to calm down and stop worrying about getting back at the guy but focus on the fact you're still alive and getting back your damage. But yeah, maybe my country has a different mentality.

no, your country doesn't have a different mentality, and i'm sure there are people like Moshnet in your country. it's understandable to be angry at the guy Moshnet, but wishing you had a shotgun so you could go kill him or whatever really isn't what you want to do or think. That will only make you madder.

I understand you want him to be punished in some way but if things are right the legal system should already take care of that without you having to sue him. At least that's how it goes here (most of the time).
@Jizzylax: what I meant is that in Belgium people don't sue each other for everything. Also, sueing a company in group isn't possible. And we don't know the system of precedents.
Anyway, I'm going to stay out of this topic now. I have said what I wanted to say and I wish you all the best with your health and the insurance and all. Especially the first, I know what it's like to have neck damage due to a car accident when you're a teenager. I had a severe wiplash from my bike accident, a lot of treatment took away most the pain but I still sometimes suffer from a neck ache.
Best of luck!

I'm glad you're ok.
I'll just offer this:
Be careful with what you say on these postings. Especially if it comes to a lawsuit. You know how lawyers can be, and iexbeta can be found via google very easily. The last thing you need is something coming up to bite you in the ass.
Even something as dumb as joking about getting a shotgun.
You're better off staying quiet, and not saying negative things about him (or the cop involved)
