A little over a year ago, my sister's 4 month old baby died for apparently no reason (doctor's call this SIDS). A friend of my sister's created a facebook cause last June, and by February there were 65000 members (it's slowly climbed to 70000+ since).
This is something she put in last week's paper.

does anyone else here have any experience with this sort of thing?

Yes, but I was only one year old at the time. My Brother James passed away from SIDS in 1963. At that time it did not have the medical status that it has today, And even though my dad was in police at the time, they where treated as though it was a homicide until an autopsy was performed. Its a terrible thing that happens to babies, not to mention the emotional agony it is for the parents and family. I sure James welcomed Tayler to that special place in Heaven.

I just read this. I've never heard of this before. That's terrible.

and vr, it is amazing how differently it affects people... I couldn't imagine a homicide investigation. or even something like child services poking around. ermm.gif
