640 not 460

and if hes got a legal truly valid key that means hes gonna be using normal pro or home not corp as corp wont take those keys wink2.gif
dutchie
Well it works perfect here... so what are you talking about ?? you want to probe for 30 keys and try them one by one b4 installing sp2... wierdo cool2.gif

thats because that keygen spits out keys for the Corporate Edition of Windows XP Professional.

Standard Home or Professional keys will not work on a Corporate Build and vice versa.
dutchie
I don't even know if this is the corp version or only pro.. it simply works.
Taco Bell
FWIW dutchie, the retail/OEM version of Pro requires activation, the corporate version does NOT.
Tuco
So what keygen do you need to find 640 pid's for corp ?

Dont think you should really ask this here, its against the rules, you'll get bummed for it!
Tuco
I'm not asking for a link, just a name ( or is that to much ? )
Taco Bell
@Tuco: As long as there's no links, then you're fine, so feel free to discuss the product key changer.
likuidkewl
Irrelevant post, slow typer I guess.

Edit #3 Tuco check you PM.
Tuco
Thanks likuidkewl, all set for SP2 ( fingers crossed biggrin.gif ) do you need any misc software installed to run that jellybean keychanger ? as it doesn't do anything for me.

Tuco
I know you posted it mate, it doesn't run correctly for me ? nothing happens when i doubleclick on the .exe ( which is why i wondered if i need any vb runtime files ( or similar ).
dutchie
I do not know.. look at their site to find out http://www.magicaljellybean.com/
Tuco

Found this tidbit some time ago...

WinXP's setupp.ini controls how the CD acts. IE is it an OEM version or retail? First, find your setupp.ini file in the i386 directory on your WinXP CD. Open it up, it'll look something like this:

ExtraData=707A667567736F696F697911AE7E05
Pid=55034000

The Pid value is what we're interested in. What's there now looks like a standard default. There are special numbers that determine if it's a retail, oem, or volume license edition. First, we break down that number into two parts. The first five digits determines how the CD will behave, ie is it a retail cd that lets you clean install or upgrade, or an oem cd that only lets you perform a clean install? The last three digits determines what CD key it will accept. You are able to mix and match these values. For example you could make a WinXP cd that acted like a retail cd, yet accepted OEM keys.

Now, for the actual values. Remember the first and last values are interchangable, but usually you'd keep them as a pair:

Retail = 51882 335
Volume License = 51883 270
OEM = 82503 OEM

So if you wanted a retail CD that took retail keys, the last line of your setupp.ini file would read:

Pid=51882335

And if you wanted a retail CD that took OEM keys, you'd use:

Pid=51882OEM

Note that this does NOT get rid of WinXP's activation. Changing the Pid to a Volume License will not bypass activation. You must have a volume license (corporate) key to do so.

I am a newbie here, and I saw a reference to a program on the German Community board that I believe is another good program for viewing and changing your product keys. I did a search and no mention was made of it anywhere else on this board as far as I could tell. The program is called ROCKXPv3 and is freeware, available for download at snapfiles.com This program will allow you to view your product key, change the key with a button click, view system and RAS passwords, save your WPA.DBL file, and also view the keys for any other Microsoft product installed. A password generator is also included.

Taco Bell
@jtkeep: Because the product key that produced that PID value is blacklisted! Look at the pinned SP2 FAQ for its summary on what to do, as well as this associated discussion.
