No no, all of us were 1337 from the day we were born. That's why it's ok to flame someone because they're learning.

Man of course I know how to remove that before installing 1204 but the thing is I chose "Do not archive" when installing 1185. Any smart guy out there knows how to get around with this?

I never archive files.
I did a slipstreamed 1204 installation and upgraded my 1185. Perfect, and it fixed all the bugs I had before that!

"yes yes. we were"
why the hell you wouldn't archive files when installing a beta service pack is beyond me, but you can either try a system restore or if you extract the service pack there is an ini you can modify to allow an upgrade from your build. as i don't have either 1185 or 1204 at the moment i can't tell you the specifics

I end up slipstreaming SP2 1204 to 1185 and did an upgrade to get 1204 to work. Version number shown as SP1 1604 after the upgrade, so I ran SP2 1204 again to correct that. My Ramdisk was missing after all the hassle, it really didn't worth the upgrade to 1204.
Does anyone know what this ini is, out of curiosity?

Hi kenc 1103
I face the same problem only i removed by accident the uninstall files.
can you give me the details of your slipstreaming ? do you mean slipstreaming the 1204 in the allready slipstreamed XP Pro + Sp 1 + 1185 , or slipstream the 1204 in 1185 (??)
tanx in advance

I have slipstreamed SP2 1204 into a VLK edition of XP Pro with SP-1 slipstreamed into it. So far it has worked. I ran a check on the CD and it had a couple of errors with win9x migration files missing, but it still installed. Also had a few IR*.dll files, like 4 missing towards the end. But I skipped them and XP still installed fine. Not sure if it was a dirty disc or not. I will try a reinstall with a cleaner cd and see if the files are still missing.
It comes up as 1204 and seems ok so far. no errors yet, but i don't have much on it yet.
If i can be any help please ask.

okay, i have replicated the missing files error.
the missing files are
iac25_32.ax, intel audio related
ir41_32.ax ---
ir41_qc.dll ---
ir41_qcx.dll ---- media related, intel Indeo codec/Quicktime related?
ir50_32.dll ----
ir50_qc.dll ---
ir50_qcx.dll ---
ivfsrc.ax - DirectX related, unknown which version?
all in all, XP VLK with sp1 slipstreamed, with SP2 build 1204 slipstreamed on top of that is working so far.
still testing for stability. will keep posted.
If anyone else is getting similar results, please let me know. maybe we can figure this out.
