When i am installing programs from source i.e
CODE
./configure
make
make install


it doesnt go into the K-bar for example... or "the menu"...

so where the hell does it go! huh.gif

please someone help me find my programs sad.gif

they shoud go to /bin some go to /usr/local/share/bin (i think) unsure.gif just go to shell and type there name and check if they run from there, they they do, it is easy to link them on your desktop.. smile.gif

Of course a program wont be listed unless your distribution is set to automatically change the menu and the tastkar settings.

Usually, you just type in the name of the program in console or run to start the program; there should be instruction in README or other file.

Once you know how to start, you can add the icons and names in the menu, desktop, and taskbar.

You didn't say what OS it was; it's better to describe your settings, OS, and so on when you want the problem's solution quicker.

sorry, it was on Mandrake 9.1, and Mdk8.0. i will have a little search round for them. smile.gif
