== REASON:

Seems the first ISO was created within those annoyin' ISO standards,
therefore truncating the important crap. Thank MS for the horrendously
long file names.

== REQS:

You will need:

- A drink
- The original, dorked ISO
- Some processing power and time
- About 2GB of space (guestimation)

== HOW TO USE:

- Create a folder and extract the contents of the fix package
(I assume you already did as you're reading this)

- Create a folder inside this directory labeled "EXTRACT"

- Extract/Copy the contents of your ISO (en_longhorn_4015_pro-WinBeta.iso)
into the "EXTRACT" folder you just created.

- Make sure you see setup.exe, readme.html, etc. inside this "EXTRACT" folder.
The fix does no error trapping/checking so its up to you to get it right!

- Execute Fix.bat and it'll pump out a new ISO for you.

and for their ideas and whatnot.

Shouts (literally) to our host of one of our shells that let the log size
get to 32GB+ and bring down the box! They have quotas you know!!!!

For my first attempt, the resulting LH_PRO_4015.ISO was 0 bytes!

I'll see if I did anything wrong. The batch file had no complaints, but it also has no error checking, so ...

However, sounds like the source of the troubles was because the bootable CD portion used BootCatalog.cat and BootImage.img as the filenames. Doh.

Any suggestions g8torboy? I extracted this RAR file, created an EXTRACT folder, used ISOBuster to extract the contents of WLHPRO to this newly created EXTRACT folder, and finally ran fix.bat by double clicking on it.

I think I'll turn off @ECHO OFF and see I get any complaints.

No complaints. However, I think the problem is long filenames in the path I chose, so trying a simpler location.

The simpler location worked and gave me a new 655 MB ISO. Burning it now!

I booted with the fixed CD and am currently installing on my test laptop. Taco Bell, I'm not quite sure to tell you as I followed the exact same directions and had no problems.??? KASkuDIM, I downloaded mine off of the newsgroups, so I hope it is legit!!

I downloaded the one off the newsgroups as well and it was indeed the same size as g8torboys once bootfixed

btw make sure that you are putting the extracted cd in the extract folder and the fix.bat, cdimage.exe, winSXS folder, and boot.bin one level higher than the extract folder

you dont want it inside of it

DOH!!! I should have caught that for download manager. Well I was just to the point where I thought that I was going to be asked to put in the CD key and up pos an error message.

I chose the option to retry, fix and correct a debug error. WRONG choice. The PC re-booted and now the whole process has re-started.

OK, I'm too damn tired to try anymore tonight. I just got the same error message again and chose the "ignore" selection with the same results. The PC starts all over again. I will just probably intall LH4008 and try installing this from inside windows!!

na my cd's don't load the explore just freazeis when i go to open them.

have to use isobuster to extract the stuff off the cd.

i have downloaded the file "en_longhorn_4015_pro-WinBeta.iso" via edonkey few days before and it was not bootable.
then i found the file "longhorn 4015 fixmepack.rar" in edonkey.
i follow the text file that found in the extracted rar file and my 4015 became bootable and work fine.

i used "daemon tools" to emulate the iso file and then copy the files to the folder that i created with name "extract" and then run the fix.bat file and it made "LH_PRO_4015.ISO" in "665 mb" (698,259,456 bytes) .
