from the NFO:
QUOTE
==> Long story short, WiNBETA fucked up when they tagged BIOSINFO.INF and replaced
it back into the ISO before they leaked it and sent it out to all of their servers.
My remake of their patch fixes their fuckup... PLUS it restores your ISO back to
the original state it came from when Microsoft compiled this build! Here's the fixes:
1 - Fixes the booting error.
2 - Fixes the long filename mistake by replacing the whole WINSXS folder. (Some of you may know this more commonly as either "Error 14" or the "Debug" error.)
3 - Deletes WiNBETA's tagged BIOSINFO.INF and replaces it with the original.
4 - Fixes the time/date stamps back to their originals. (03/28/2003 12:00)
5 - Renames the CD label back to its original name: LB1PFRE_EN
6 - Outputs your ISO as: usa_x86_lhpro_alpha.m5_cd1.iso
##############
INSTRUCTIONS:#
##############
A - Have at least 2 Gigs free on your harddrive.
1 - Create a folder in C: and name it "M5ALPHA".
2 - Unpack the files from this RAR file into that folder.
3 - Create a folder within "M5ALPHA" directory and name it "LH4015".
4 - Extract the contents of WiNBETA's ISO into your folder named "LH4015".
==> At this point you should make sure setup.exe is in the "LH4015" directory.
==> If this is the case, then everything else is in place in that folder and
==> you're ready to continue...
5 - Run WiNBETAsucks.bat and hit enter the couple of times it asks you to.
==> If you did it correctly, you should have a nice pretty new ORIGINAL
==> ISO named "usa_x86_lhpro_alpha.m5_cd1.iso" inside your "M5ALPHA" directory.
################################################################################
#
#
For your viewing pleasure, here's the bullshit excuse they came up with as to #
why the ISO messed up (Notice how it's still not WiNBETA's fault. None of this #
would be neccessary if they hadn't've pulled their bullshit by tagging that one #
.inf file...): #
#
################################################################################
#
== REASON:
Seems the first ISO was created within those annoyin' ISO standards,
therefore truncating the important crap. Thank MS for the horrendously
long file names.
i'll have a link for you all soon...

Hmm, I was getting error 32768 with BIOSINFO.INF when using Winbeta's fix, but sounds like ReflectiaX's fix will prevent that.
I hope I too don't get error 14. Does it say anything else DigitalDude2005?

I am of the opinion that WinBeta is just a bunch of sniveling babies
They think oh we must tag it so everyone can know its our work
Then they break the shit due to that....Anyone remember their release of SideShow?

You guys getting "error 14"... Are y'all trying to install it on VMWare? Everyone I've talked to thus far who's getting that error is trying to install it on VMWare but they got it to work just fine when installing on their actual PC. Anyone tried VPC yet???

For those of u who didnt see betaguy post the full thing in the leak topic:
File \$WIN_NT$ntkrnlmp.exe could not be loaded.
The error code is 14
Setup cannot continue. Press any key to exit.
I get this no matter if its a fixed or not version and Im installing on an acual pc. this is as if i started the install from xp but when i start it from a boot its a dif error which is a stop error about ntfs.sys its strange

Cant say that its a bad iso or any of that cas this has happend no matter which ive had all from winbeta cas everyone gets the same thing.
my fixed iso usa_x86_lhpro_alpha.m5_cd1.iso 665 MB (698,214,400 bytes)
it also does this on the fixed winbeta iso and the original except of course on the original the boot thing didnt even boot at all.
Im gonna now try an upgrade from 4008 and tell ya if that goes okay.
i must be lucky then cuz i got the same iso as everyone else and i used winbetas fix.
