or use this GUI version of Winipcfg that microsoft made for win2k called Wntipcfg.

Right - if you need to know your public IP, visit www.privacy.net - that's what I use (my ISP recommended this to me!) ... all those whatismyipaddress.com etc sites are not so reliable when connecting from behind a router.
