Just bought a new MS Multimedia Keyboard and Optical Mouse, and when i try to install the IntelliPoint / IntelliType software on Windows 2003 it says the OS aint supported

Anyone have a work-around? I tried the latest version of the MS site too. Cant find any information on whether its supported in 2003

I cant use compatibility mode to make it think its XP or 2000 cos its an MSI Install file....not an exe, so theres no option to set the compatibility mode

Anyone else know?

Have you tried to extract the files and point the device to the .inf files? The software isn't necessary if you have the drivers installed.

The software probably won't work, unless you extract the files from the MSI file, then run the software setup in compatibility mode. Not sure if this will solve the problem BUT it's worth a shot

Well, if you're desperate, you can use SysDiff. Just use an XP machine, do a sys image, then install the software, make a diff, move the diff over the the server, and then restore the diff. The OSes are similar enough that it should work. Kinda painful, but it should work.
