now if u apply this pack, u will not be able to install sp2 correct? cause i tried last night, and sp2 cancelled early for me, right after i hit the agree button (no matter what i did).

thanx! cool2.gif

Service Pack 2 isn't offical Microsoft Windows XP update so I withdraw this patch.
Seppi2k
A little hint: Change your About-Screen in the shell32.dll to show the right Build-Number wink2.gif

That's what I did here

i totally understand that, but i'm just asking because when i go to install sp2 (after i did the pack), it starts the normal process of install, but quickly closes and says that sp2 install has been cancelled. u think it's because of that??

Windows X....Great stuff. I've been using your Visual Styles for the past 6 months at least, and your styles only since from what I've seen and tried don't compare. I just installed this Transformation pack for the 3rd time to see if I can get some things that should appear to actually appear. The following items have not changed:

About Windows still shows Windows XP not the change the pack provides
No Blue Toolbar...still shows XP styled
No Blue Windows Flag in IE...still shows XP flag
No change in Logoff Window...still shows XP Logoff window
No change in Turn Off Computer Window...still shows XP style

I hope that helps....the items that have not changed are essentially the items you've shown in your earlier posts within this topic.

From what I can tell everything else has changed. The Boot Screen is Longhorn, when Windows shuts down that is Longhorn styled. This third time I had to manually change the desktop wallpaper too. Any ideas Windows X or anyone else that may have seen this and fixed???

Not sure if the below info will help...

Using XP SP1
used the uxthemepatch.dll originally in order to use your earlier visual styles
Windows X
DarkJedi, SP2 will check original XP's files so you have to rollback first by run patch again.

And other problems, read this...

1. It works only in Windows XP (build 2600) and SP1 (build 1106)
2. You have to eject XP's CD before run it
3. If you install from HD, you have to move XP files or edit registry for other XP's path
4. It works with multi language edition as well but it may mess your text about your language and English
5. You have to follow the instruction strictly! If it ask you to wait, you have to wait! About 30 seconds for sure to cancel Windows File Protection. Some system files won't replace cause you don't wait.
DarkJedi
i figured it had to be that. if u add sp2 compatibility, will it be based on build, or will it just be SP2? like say u add 1204 compat, but i install 1213, would that affect it? i do really like ur transform pack, it's quite cool wink2.gif also, i did notice the buttons were the longhorn color, but when u mouse over them, they go back to the normal xp colors. just to tell ya.
stealth
for some reason, my buttons are XP color and the About screen looks the same... it doesnt have the LH flag in IE either.... i'm running Windows XP Professional w/ SP1

for all those ppl that applied the patch and have some things that did not change, ie. about screen, logoff dialogue, shut down dialogue, etc.

try to install the thing in safe mode. i had the same problems in the beginning, but after installing it in safe mode, it patched everything perfectly
C-Luv
I2icky....thank you. Great insight...

Windows X...as mentioned earlier great work. I noticed one thing, when the window comes up for "Turn Off Computer" the button for Standby is a brighter, lighter blue. I wouldn't know if this is what Longhorn has, but I did notice on neowin that you're working on a version 2 of your Transformation Pack. Thanks, and I look forward to the next incarnation
Nightwind Hawk
Ok, erm. When I previsiouly did this, I got NOTHING except the boot screen, log in, and visual style. No log off buttons, windows logo replacement, and difference in ABOUT WINDOWS.

I am trying to download the new version here, but your link is dead. crying.gif
C-Luv
Nightwind Hawk....did you try the Safe Mode trick? I had your same problem, installed it like 5 times. After booting in Safe Mode, and installing the patch everything worked. Yeah, the link is down....waiting for the 2nd version.

Nope- I did not! I've installed this thing many times too rolleyes.gif Luckily I have the new version, and now I know how to do it! Thanks a bunch smile.gif
Nightwind Hawk
Ok, looks great now. But however, I had this problem until I undoed everything last time, and now I have it again. ALL text anywhere on my screen is hard to read, smuged, and faded in some parts of it. sad.gif Any fix? (And cleartype is still enabled!)

NO!

The purpose of this is visual effects, not changing the information and build numbers!! :|
Windows X
It's possible cause I ever do it too but it also useless too. (Is there any point to change?)
C-Luv
Nightwind Hawk....you have Version 2 from Windows X? If so, may I get it from you...if not that's cool. Or Windows X, is it possible to get it from you?
Windows X
No wait! Here's 2.0!

Don't USE this!

i used it on my windows XP home SP1 (in vmware)
and it messed it up..and i tried to install some pre-sp2 fixes and they wont install..
this pack changes all your important system files..

i'll just stick with plex theme and sidebar apps

I thought this was cool, until I actually installed Longhorn, and realized how much it sucked. It's all right, but the only things that are actually accurate are the boot screen, and the screensaver. Everything else is fucked up, as in, it looks nothing like longhorn.
OldeCrow

thats a little critical !

outside of explorer windows (shellstyle.dll) which are very different in longhorn and difficult to reproduce exactly in windowsXP and a little artistic licence for the animated explorer flag and a couple of buttons the "style" is almost exact
while im not useing the transformation pack (ive done it my self) i sight this screenshot which i can view right along side my longhorn screen and it is virtually identical (ok my logoff and shutdown popups are tweaked and the genunine longhorn ones are not) but other wise wink2.gif

3.0 News

After I had discovered for possible M5 Transformation, I found this things.
-M5 flag in Start Button
-M5 Screensaver
-M5 Redesign (Violent Bliss)
-M5 Boot Screen
-M5 Progress Dialog

But I think these things are ugly than M4
-M5 flag in Start Button
-M5 Boot Screen

So I had realized that it pointless to do with this stuffs so I'll merge these in my pack without M4 or M5 choice (to avoid some ppl who ask for merge M4 and M5)

-M5 Screensaver (Optional to change)
-M5 Progress Dialog
-M5 NewBliss Login

If you like violent M5 Redesign, you can search for it in ThemeXP.org or wait in here till I tell you where it is.
