well have had longhorn 4015 since sunday and i have installed and reinstalled at least 4 times but it keeps eating up my available memory ,and i have followed all guides on services to shut down , so think i will wait for l8r versions ,even beta version b4 trying it out again, unless you out there can tell me why its doing this. ermm.gif

alphas r like this, thats why they r only for playing around with. install, play, uninstall. dont try to use it as your main OS. there is no real fix for this. u can wait until we get some betas. my advise, wait for a beta to leak. when beta2 leaks it should be a usable OS

Did you take a look at which specific processes are using up all of the memory in task manager.

That would be a good idea, disable all unneeded background tasks and services also. blink.gif

are you talking about the explorer mem leak? Following my guide fixes that... Only other thing that eats a lot of memory is WinFS and it's support services but all the guides have had that listed to disable since 3683
