I just have to say all-in-all I really like Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition, mainly since I got it for free and of course it reminds me of Windows 2000 of which I've had such great luck with.

I ended up downloading both the 32 and 64 bit versions, 64 bit for later when I purchase a 64 bit CPU....

I found a crack for the 180-day trial, all you do is use WinISO and replace the Setupreg.hiv file with the new one and resave the ISO and then use Nero to burn the ISO to CD....simple!

It really works too, and what's really nice is that when you signup to download the file you are given your own installation key, for FREE! This method also allows you to install a FULL unrestricted version that can access Windows Update and everything.

The overall peformance of this OS is staggering, much faster and more efficient than Win2k or XP for that matter!

sigh crying.gif

If there was a timebomb crack for the 32bit version, it would probably not work on the 64bit version, unless they would recompile it ofcourse.

Ah well, just reinstall every 6 months, who cares cool2.gif

No, tweak NT doesn't work either.

Still, you can always reinstall after 6 months and re-activate it. biggrin.gif

Remember the rules, dudes... Don't deal with cracks here, especially regarding an OS now out for a week -> it's considered as warez stuff. So beware...

32bit cracks won't work with 64bit systems, don't bother.

InHuman, is it your actual name in the About box (1st pic)?? Would you be you fool enough to give it away on a forum?? I can't believe my eyes... blink.gif
Without being paranoid, some 'people' browse these kinds of forums in search for such gifts... you are being watched, remember... fear.gif

I downlaoed the trial version, and the setupreg.ads file what u are meant to change to setupregs.hiv and copy into the i386 directory (replacing the one already there) and it did NOT work. Early on in the setup, I got an error message saying the setupreg.hiv file was corrupted or the wrong size.

So, nice idea, but a dud really!

I downloaded the trial version...

I wish I could get that far!...

...I get to the point where you go to the [your] Address page, and I get a "Page unavailable" error msg...been trying it for the last couple days, no luck...

...But following your link, I did get the ISO...But I need the Eval Kit email with the activation key...I sent MS a msg to their generic support site, but I doubt anyone there will have any idea what to do about it... sad.gif
Pnhead
You can just sign up for the eval kit. You just typ some bullshit in the form. And within 5 minutes you will recieve a mail from ms with the download page and your unique installation key.

for those of you looking to remove the timebomb, tweaknt 1.21 will work. I just tested it. Also, those of you that are looking to bypass activation... there is a way. I will leave it at that.

Ah, I found my problem...

You can have the free CD or the download, but not both...

I had signed up for the snail-mail CD before I saw the download option, so when I tried that, it wouldn't let me sign up for the download...

I went to a friends PC and applied for the download ISO there, and got the email with the download page/key, but can't download it there - dial-up w/33.6 modem...

Can't access the download page from my PC at all...I suppose it checks the IP address or something to see if you're leeching more than one copy... rolleyes.gif

...Oh, well...Whenever they get around to sending the CD will be soon enough... tongue.gif

Yup, pretty easy with the fact that all you have to do is put in your email address and it remembers everything else...

I did that 30 times plus the 1 key I got with the snail mail version.
Chris123NT
Now if only there was a guaranteed way to kill the 180 day eval blink.gif

hteunissen
Does the patch with replacing the setupreg.hiv work, even when you set the date 2 years ahead?
davek
Go to bios and put the system clock ahead one year and you will know non of the patches or cracks works.

Cheers.
hteunissen
So TweakNT 1.21 also doesn't work?
InHuman
Hehe. you are right about that timebomb still being there...
I rebooted, set my date a year ahead and...BOOM...got hit with the timebomb upon rebooting into Win2k3. Oh well, I'll just delete the directory, remove the entry in the boot.ini file and reinstall it later...I'm just happy I at least have a full reg copy of WinXP Pro anyway.
Them folks over at Xbetas better check themselves and submit a new "crack" cuz their current one just get's rid of the notice and makes you think you are fully reg'd. What a surprise it would be if someone actually setup a server this way and 6 months down the road, BOOM! Thx for the tip, you figure I would have picked up on that since I USUALLY am good for testing software that way, I can't believe I missed testing that...got too caught-up in wondering how MS could just "give" away a new OS....
