I've noticed that the new mail notification icon on the desktop only appears when a message is delivered directly to the inbox. I have separate mail folders set up and rules to process incoming mail. When a message lands on one of the other folders I do not get the notification. This was not the case in previous versions of outlook. Does anyone know of a setting somewhere or a fix for this?

In the rules wizard, try this:



Maybe "Display a Desktop Alert" will work.
