Windows Code-Named Longhorn 4051 has leaked onto the internet. As Paul Thurrott correctly confirmed late last evening. The select few who have been able to get hold of the build are currently working to install it. No doubt we'll see it half way round the internet within 12 hours or so.

6.0.4051.0 (idx02.031001-1340) is the build stamp. For all those who can't wait for people to install it and screenshot the hell out of it I've included a little taste at what is to come. As usual we'll keep you well up to date on all that's going on with this build as we get it

UPDATE: WiNBETA has leaked Longhorn PDC 4051. A blow to all customers expecting to have a first look @ Longhorn on Sunday/Monday.

newsgroups are still faster.

bittorrent only eats up CPU time when hashing a file not while downloading

Those are two very small pieces of a much bigger picture. Both of which can be changed.

Those would be "spacious skies" and "amber waves of grain" if I'm not mistaken. We just need a purple mountain and we're all set.

You guys that has not yet downloaded this new build, please prefer to xbetas irc network and DL the *PROPER* rls, which is bootable and i belive has crack and everything build in.

Anyone yet tested this? If its better or if its slow as hell?

Just started getting the *Proper* release of this, the sources are still slowly building - I rather like the Slate theme, I actually hated the Plex Style, and previous UI. (Too much blue) hardly restful at all !

Yeah, all I did was download the original release and changed the pidgen.dll and made the iso bootable. It's much faster than redownloading a whole image again. Definitely the best LH release yet. Much more stable than the others. And the slate theme, in my opinion, is a welcome change from the blue we have had shoved down our throats since XP was released.

Someone PLEASE tell me if this still will NOT install on a RAID system or on a RAID array. specifically the Promise TX2000. I am not going to get a copy unless it will support this.

Yea its nice. Fast. Intenet is slow as hell though. At least for the first 10mins. Now I'm getting 450kbps which is my normal. Kinda odd. Right after longhorn loaded i ran a test at dslreports.com and some other bandwidth testers and they all said between 20kbps and 50kbps.

Windows Longhorn is pretty sweet. Grab a copy guys. Just turn off the slate theme and its fast as crap.

none of the builds have supported RAID so far

matter of fact I didnt know this with either 4008 or 4015 (cant remember which) and tried to install it on my desktop system

killed the raid array dead

I lost all of the data on it

Was not too happy with that

Tested LH 4051, well its very nice and much better with the theme than the old builds, If you havn't test the previously ones: Test it.

The memory leek dissaperad after doing all the tweaks, but slowly it came and was rising well above 40 mb, dont use it for everyday computing, not even close to good.

I just called MS and they approved the key I am using for a new activation for longhorn
