Overview of the Office 2003 Critical Update: November 11, 2003

Microsoft has released a hotfix for Microsoft Office 2003. This hotfix fixes a problem that occurs when you open and save a Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003, a Microsoft Office Word 2003, or a Microsoft Office Excel 2003 document that includes OfficeArt shapes in an earlier version of Microsoft Office. If the OfficeArt shapes are changed in this way, empty "complex" properties may be saved in the document. These empty "complex" properties may undergo a bit change in some earlier versions of Office. When you open the document in an Office 2003 program, any of the following symptoms may occur:

* The document may not open completely.
* The document may be corrupted.
* The document may open but with missing content.
* You might receive an error message.
