Try enabling the "Show Console" option under Control Panel | Java Plug-in to see what programs are running.
yeah i tired that, but nothing shows up.... i assumed that it showed when processes actually start/end, and didn't just show idle/running processors. i'll try keeping it open for a while.
Does it appear when browsing the web?
might be just adverts poping up with java applets in.... double clicking on it usually brings up all the information about it.

If you have the current version of Sun Java VM you may notice that when it installs it brings a friend!! It installs and configures an executable named jusched.exe to run on startup and stay resident. There was no mention on Sun webpages!!! What does it stand for?? Java Update Scheduler it does just that, it checks for updates 24/7, even though sun releases their updates a month apart from each other, this .exe file uses 2 mb of memory, thanks alot, Sun!!! Its not like i need it or anything, I would like to beat the living monkey sh*t out of the guy who created this useless and retarded file!!!!! Do you have this file running on your PC??? Chances are your running it right now!!! Dont believe me? Alt+Ctrl+Delete/TaskManager/Processes/Jusched.exe-2 MB of
I dont know looks wierd

Yeah, I'm still on the original v1.4.2, so that may be why I don't have either this executable or this process. 'cause I didn't bother with either _01 or _02. Good to know though, so thanks Merkava.
don't have that either, but then i downloaded the whole shebang - java SDK - so that might not have included it.
