Can someone help, I cant download anything off betaplace, it gives me this erorr: There was an error starting the File Transfer manager

what is wrong?

well, since you obviously hate MS products, run Linux instead.

aaanyway, errr, try looking in the event viewer in administrative tools.

do you have activeX enabled? it should prompt you to run the file transfer script.

in the settings, they are all enabled, and zonealarm 2003 is not running, so no firewall to block the Activex controls. Anyway I wanted the Windwos update CD , so I just got it off a buddies computer. thanks anyway
