i've been using zone alarm for quite some time now, and have used norton personal firewall 2003 before, and really liked it, but heard zone alarm was better. however in PF2003, and 2004 i know u can block ads completely in a webpage, etc.... zone alarm says it block ads, but it doesn't work that well. what program do u honestly think is better? or is there a way to actually get rid of those ads in zone alarm?
Pzaga
I honestly think the NPF is better, I haven't seen an ad or popups in such a long time, lol. smile.gif

Don't know about ZA - after my brief period with playing with it, I threw it in the trash, never picked it up again.

Personally, I would still use a router, its a ton more secure, a lot easier to manage, and doesnt require itself to be loaded on your computer. Hell, go get an old box and setup a router on BSD or something, thats what I am doing right now. My router is an old crappy FreeBSD box, then it feeds into a hub which goes to my server and this computer, and also into a wireless access point wink.gif Plus routers are more fun, especially making your own biggrin.gif

i have no need for a router, and definately don't have the space for it, so having one is a waste of money and space. software firewalls are fine for me. i really like zone alarm, i just don't like the fact that it can't block ads, so i'm using NPF2003 now (NIS 2004 sucked major ass and crashed 90% of the time), and am liking it smile.gif
Abyzmic
The google bar blocks popup ads and has other great uses.
PaJaMa
my suggestion is to use Zone Alarm, works really better as a firewall

as for ad-blocking i suggest u use 3the party software, somùe are way better then ZM or NIS

I would like to know what you guys do to NIS2004 in order to make it crash.blink.gif I've been using it for quite a while now and it has been flawless!
Is it possible DJ you got "the" bad version of NIS2004?

I'm asking because there was one vs floating around(Suprnova) that did not complete the installation; and would eventually crash. ermm.gif

suggest some if u don't mind smile.gif the main ads i'm talking about are flash ads that are on certain websites that are REALLY annoying. grrrrrrrrr!!!!
PaJaMa
well u cant really kill flash adds, or u need to kill every flash , if u dont mind about that, do a google search http://www.google.be/search?q=flash+add+ki...ler&hl=nl&meta=

srry m8, cant really suggest you a good prog for that, as i use avant as browser and it has an option to black flash, and ealy turn it back on! cool2.gif
