Hi,
The Windows 2000/XP Encryption File System (EFS) doesn't work under CDFS (Compact Disk File System). In other words, once written in to a CD the encrypted files and folders are no longer encrypted in the CD.
Can anybody please recommened a good encryption software which can do this job? I wouldn't prefer to use WinRAR or WinZIP because I do not need to have my folders in any other compressed archive as I have extract them to the hard disk first. I need them to be in CD just as they are in the hard disk.
A reliable freeware program will highly be preferred although suggestions for shareware are also welcome. Thank you.
P.S:
How about PGP 8.0.3 Freeware (http://www.pgp.com/products/freeware.html) ?
In Windows Encryption, all I have to do is Encrypt the necessary files and backup the certificate from MMC and save the backup with password protection. I find it as reliable/safe method.
A 3rd party software similar to that method which would preseve encryption even after the files are written to a CD, is highly preferred.

OK; I tried PGP 8.0.1 Freeware and Personal (both). I encrypted a test folder and burnt it into a CD, and the contents were able read by another user account with no hesitation. ='(
It also made *.pgp (PGP Encryted Files) for each file that Folder had. When I double click one of those files, it asks for the Private Key, when the correct paraphrase is give, it asks where to output the decrypted file. If that's how we are supposed to access the encrypted files, then it is no use. I no need to click on *.pgp files on by to access them. I need them to work normal as Windows encrypted files operates normal like other files.

CryptCD encrypts cd-r files. "Once you create the CryptCD files and burn them to a CD it will work on other PC compatibles....When you view/run files from a CryptCD that file is copied and decrypted to your system temp directory while you work with it. When your done with that file it is automatically deleted from the drive ( multiple files can remain open at once )."
