Heres my setup.. 1 Physical Drive. 3 Partions. C:\5GB,D:\10GB,E:\10GB. I want to extend D:\ by 5GB onto E:\ (shrinking E: by 5GB) so it will look like this
C:\5GB,D:\15GB,E:\5GB.
Problem is I want to do it without disrupting the files on D:\, I have emptied E:\ so what do I need to do.. I did think to just boot to bootITNG and alter the sizes, but then I though about whether id need to format. If I need both drives clear and reformat them then thats possible as I have a second 40GB physical drive.

Any help and program suggestions appreciated. Freeware or free to try shareware would be most appreciated..

I have never used anything but Partition Magic, it could easily do what you are after, unfortunately it isn't free.

It is made by PowerQuest and upon just checking it appears as though Symantec have bought them out. hmmm...

Thanks guys, but Acronis Partition Expert isnt free either. I'll just be more creative as to where I put the files or mount one of my other drives to a folder in the one with little space, anyway, I cant be bothered with messing around with it anymore.

Thanks again

if you run windows 2000/xp you can make you disk Dynamic and you can partition from there but may risk losing all data after conversion fear.gif .
