well, i'm setting up my own server, and installed mysql, php, phpymadmin etc

but when i try to make a new database with phpmyadmin it says i dont have permission

how to change this?

Try using USER: root PASSWORD:[leave it blank], if u didnt already do any configuration.

If this is on windows you should have run the bin/winmysqladmin.exe to setup a default user name and password
