right i cant re-rip all my mp3s to aac (basically because i dont own 70% of my collection tongue.gif )

so i would like to know the program that can produce the best quality results on converting mp3 to aac.

i dont plan on converting my music hard drive in my pc to aac, oh no its staying mp3 since its the most widespread format but im planning on converting the songs on my ipod.

the ipod is an external hard drive, so basically i can convert the songs that are directly on the ipod.

want to do this since i currently have 6 gig left on it but only 2600 odd songs.... aac produces better compression therefore i can fit more songs in.

its late, my explanations might be sketchy but i could use some help,

thanks biggrin.gif

If you want to Import your songs from your iPod in ACC and then Export them back onto the harddrive use iTunes, that would be the easyest.

right thanks guys,

but you see what im going to do is convert the mp3s that are on my ipod... not the ones that are in my music folder on my pc (i want to keep these all as mp3's since its the most widespread format)

the reason i want the mp3s on my ipod converted to aac is for better compression smile.gif

If you want to convert songs directly on your iPod (since it is an external hard drive) use dBpowerAMP Music Converter. I find it one of the easiest and free ways to convert music. It does convert MP3 files to AAC regardless of where they came from. You can download codecs depending on what file format you want to convert to.

Download dBpowerAMP Music Converter

Download The AAC Codec For dBpowerAMP Music Converter
