ok guys here is my situation

im off campus so im working on 56.6k and i reformated
so..

no windows update no norton updates

my problem is that i cannot set my homepage because for @$%@$% @#@E$% spyware changes it everytime i change the setting

im kinda pissed at this company so i uninstalled everything that they put into my system and it still has my homepage as this hxxp://81.211.105.9/index.php?v=1

that leads me to seachweb.ws..

how can i get rid of this

Update norton dude, I had the same thing, Symantec AV picked it up on it's scan, and it was gone for good

^^ that's what you've got.

and sometimes, to get what adaware missed, dl this little proggy called hijackthis.

it runs and does a quick scan to see what programs launch alongside IE.

and you can delete anything that looks wrong. careful thouh, you might end up removing something that you need. be uber-careful and sure about what you want to remove.

Holy shit I jsut installed windows washer. Theres LOADS of shite on my PC thats been missed by hijack this, adaware AND AVG Antivirus 7

Scan with Add-Aware - O N L Y if you have N O T Adobe Acrobat 9not Acrobat Reader) or AutoCad 2002 version...
If you will scan in such configuration apps will not work anymore.

But agree with sayed above - Add-Aware - the best solution.
