alright, this is going to be one big update for me, new kde, new gnome, new mozilla

Sweet, only thing is Gentoo doesn't have the ebuild for this yet, so I'm going to have to wait a few hours . lol. I hope Galeon (http://galeon.sf.net) works with this release. I've noticed the bleeding edge releases usually break the lightweight browsers that run off Mozilla's technology.

Every Mozilla release seems the same to me. I'm so used to Internet Explorer. ;/

Too bad it's not a new, better and smaller Firebird but this huge, heavy Mozilla...

Firebird 0.8 (with an installer on Windows) is being held up by a few bugs, I'm really looking forward to that one as it will stop all the annoying problems with the plugins.

If they are releasing a new FB with every Moz then the numbers should add up nicely

0.8 - 1.6
0.9 - 1.7
0.10 - 1.8
1.0 - 2.0?

Now unless they are going to be fussy about Gecko not being at 2 it will be a good publicity thing. Quite frankley there is a lot of real world thinking to be done if they want to get people to use Mozilla and giving it a new number will work.

Instead of going back to the .10 release, wouldn't it make more sence if they made it .9x? .1 is rather dated.

Well according to http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firebird/roadmap.html 0.10 will be the BETA version so it might be plugged as that. Then 1.0 comes out, at the same time there is 0.11 which is the BETA for Mac and then Mac 1.0 comes out,

I think they wanted to make it seem bigger as 9x makes it seem a smaller release.

0.8 - 1.6
0.9 - 1.7
0.10 - 1.7+
