I am not a java wiz but, while I was playing around with the java console of Sun's Java VM, I noticed that the console had collected all sorts of information about folder structures on my PC, my windows user name and my location. I tried to find information related to privacy while using the java platform on the WWW and ended up with almost nothing. And furthermore, now that I felt a bit unsecured about the whole java thing, I noticed that I can’t edit any security policy to control what goes out from java applets. I don’t think I will trust many web sites with java technology and maybe I will uninstall the VM completely. Does anyone have a clue about restricting java programms?
