A friend is using norton internet security 2004, and cannot uninstall.
The uninstaller intergrated won't completely remove all of it.
Have tried running reg-crwaler 4.5 to remove it, but the keys won't let it.
Tried going to the keys in reg editor and manually reomving them and rebooting after.
Reg settings still there.
Now what?
Yes he rebooted after removing what he could using reg edit.
And we backed up reg before starting!!! (I learned the hard way)
He's going nuts so I hope some one else has had this problem and fixxed it (W/O reformatting).
And if so, can ya help me?

NAV is a real pain to uninstall manually, because it integrates with the system so much. What you need to do is search the registry for all keys and values containing the words norton and symantec. Doing that will get rid of the NAV services (the services are probably recreating the other registry keys).
But before you try that, try reinstalling it and then use the integrated uninstaller again to see if it will work.
You might be using Windows 98 correct?

Hes running xp pro.
I've got the SAME STINKING PROBLEM.
I've Removed every "nortan" and "Symantic" entry I can find.
Plus all files on the HDD and it STILL pops up
Have a lookie here:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec
and
C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USERNAME HERE\Application Data\Symantec
Uninstall the Symantec products, then delete these folders.
