@harrisonh1: Indeed, so it's been removed.
creamhackered has posted info claiming the next version of MCE is indeed, codenamed Emerald. So it looks like this beta is for the next version of MCE, probably MCE2006, or maybe MC2005 SE ???

Meh. I should have just stuck with MCE then, but I'm just gonna wait for "real" confirmation now because I'm done with the rumors.

like taco says, we wait for the truth here, not stuff which is often proven false (remember when cream said that the server2003 r2 guest IDs were scrambled, or that the capitalization was scrambled or whatever? well he was wrong

and thus i will wait for an official confirmation from ms as well.

Well, considering Mac OS-X is Apple, and the BetaID thing is from the MSDN or Microsoft Developers Network, then..nope..lol Unless you can find one for Microsoft Office OS-X or Internet Explorer, then you wont find much.

there isnt a beta id, but if u want a beta version of tiger (osx10.4) u can pay couple of hunderd bucks and sign an NDA.
and if u meant testing for stuff like messenger 5 or office07,then no, unless u wait 2 years, then MAYBE office07 might be avalible, as for messenger5, its either a public beta or no beta at all.

what is the code for MCE 2006 Beta??
Taco Bell
Feb 28 2005, 00:00
@TheCrazyChicken: Discussed previously, but some believe that the "Untitled Beta Project for Media Software" which has a guest ID of MS_BetaApp is actually the MCE 2006 Beta.

It does do this, but that's just one function. Primarily it's used for presence awareness, file sharing, and as an instant messenger. Istanbul will allow for PBX and VoIP connectivity, meaning if your out of the office your calls can be forwarded to your cell phone, based on caller ID, and a slew of other cool things.

Indeed CrimsonKnight13. It's an excellent collection and such beta programs are definitely one of the reasons for ieX's existence, so here, here.
How come we never get trouble from MS about openly posting their secret GuestIDs?
Microshit
Mar 12 2005, 09:05
Because they want us to
but once i saw there was a post that made it very clear not to post and that the guest IDs are a private thing which should be kept private.
I wont mention which board i saw the post. (It wasnt here)

True. If they wanted to all they would have to do is autogenerate a private link for each beta tester they send it to and it just activates their account. MS just doesn't want everyone and their mother who bought a PC for the first time yesterday trying to get beta software.
