LOL, how about a contest to see how many NDA's we've broken...

I'm glad people are getting use out of this thread. cool2.gif My thanks goes to Taco Bell for providing the upkeep and updates when I'm not around. I started it to provide people with a unified thread (which I hoped would be pinned and definitely is) that would be full of new Beta IDs for the beta enthusiasts. biggrin.gif
ScooBoy
https://connect.microsoft.com/
is this thw new beta microsoft?
Taco Bell
@ScooBoy: Yes, Microsoft Connect is their new beta system, but look here to read more of the details as it doesn't apply to this thread.

---

That being said, I have renamed the topic to specifically refer to BetaPlace and ask that you please do NOT post the IDs from Connect here as they are indeed unique and therefore can't be shared.

You can also thank Microsoft for screwing up the purpose behind this very popular thread. ermm.gif

Microsoft Office Communicator Web Access "Budapest"

GuestID: MOCclient
Heart_Attack
cool, but i thought they did away with beta place, or is this a phaseout thing? anyways, i signed up, but i'm not sure what it is. any details?
Taco Bell
@Heart_Attack: Dropping the use of BetaPlace will be a gradual thing and will depend on the beta program as to which system it uses.

@luX: Info. now added to the initial post, so thanks man.

QUOTE
Greetings,

Microsoft is pleased to announce the opening of the Private Beta program for Microsoft Office Communicator Web Access (aka "Budapest"). Nomination deadline is July 15th.  If your company is interested in participating in this program, please follow the nomination instructions at the end of this email.

Microsoft Office Communicator Web Access is the web client for Live Communications Server 2005, which we expect to be available in the second half of CY 2005. It is currently in development, with a Beta release expected within the next 30 days.

Communicator Web Access is intended to enable customers to deploy presence and IM capabilities in scenarios where they may currently be blocked. The Beta will assist us in validating certain aspects of the product’s design. These aspects include the deployment topologies, acceptable support for cross platform browsers and acceptable UI implementation and management functionality.

Communicator Web Access will be based on the look and feel of the Microsoft Office Communicator 2005 client and will have a subset of its functionality (the focus being on IM & presence), with support for a broad range of browsers.

Key deployment scenarios for Communicator Web Access include:

·        Down-level Windows platforms which can not run a rich IM client

·        Locked down desktops which prevent the deployment of a rich IM client

·        Non-windows platforms (i.e. Mac/Unix/Linux)

·        External user scenarios – both ‘Kiosk’ as well as other external users such as ‘road warriors’ or home workers

We are looking for customers that are willing to work with early beta technology who can evaluate and provide feedback.

Thanks for your continued support and interest in Microsoft's real-time collaboration products!

===============================================

FAQ

Q. How is support provided?

A.  Budapest Beta is intended for lab only deployment. Support is provided through newsgroups.

Q. What is the exact schedule for Communicator Web Access?

A. We are not ready to share precise schedule information more widely yet. We expect Beta will start in late July.

Q. Will Communicator Web Access require an additional CAL?

A. Customers will be able to use Communicator Web Access to access LCS 2005 SP1 and beyond assuming they have up to date CALs for access to this product. You may incur some cost with server deployment depending on your topology (i.e. if you need to procure additional servers/hardware to deploy the software).

no.. i was, and am on the beta for both
Taco Bell
@pintonet: What MS is calling the "MVP Beta" for Vista & IE7 is not their traditional MVP status as that is truly reserved for a VERY select group of beta testers.

That's the point Nightwind was trying to make, but either way, it doesn't apply to this BetaPlace thread since neither one is using that program.

Taco Bell
@JavaSpain: Thanks for the info. and initial post updated accordingly.

@Microshit: By the way, relax man. After all, it's not that annoying.

Is there a recent list of beta guestid's? and a list of microsoft connects? Thanks in advance for your help!
Taco Bell
@Nepos_Box: Well a recent list of beta Guest IDs is the whole point of this thread, so check out the initial post for that information.

However, as stated here, the invitation IDs for MS Connect are unique and therefore something that CANNOT be shared!

The beta is open to a limited number of participants only. After you have signed up, you will be asked to take a short survey to qualify for the beta program.
