I'm looking for a freeware solution to trojans. Tried a2 free (never worked) & SwatIt! (worked a couple times then stopped). Any other freeware solutions? Not shareware or payware.

I layer my protection using SpywareBlaster, ScripTrap, xp-AntiSpy, Sygate Personal Firewall, Spybot Search&Destroy, Adaware and my current AV is AntiVir Personal Edition. All the above are FREEWARE.

There is no freeware program afaik that scans & removes trojans only. That's what I'm after. OK. If anyone can help with a specific program, let me know. Thanks.

As I mentioned before a2 free & SwatIt free would fill the bill. But they DON'T work.

Edit: Whoops, sorry zap. lol, that was the first thing that popped into my mind. Went too quickly in and out of the thread.
AVG, though, I'm pretty sure it scans for trojans. Just not [only] trojans. laugh.gif

I'll do a few searches for ya. smile.gif

I'm repeating myself.

AVG is not a trojan scanner. wink.gif

Edit: It's OK Pzaga. This is the final piece of the puzzle for my layered security for my computer. Trying to go only freeware.

This stuff looks the most promising. Haven't tried & checked them though.
Hope it helps. ^_^

Try trojan remover, its a "free to try" program that lasts about a month but is well worth purchasing for the small price. or you could find other means of keeping it longer and not purchasing it....ehhem wink.gif

here is the link for the freeware version http://www.simplysup.com/tremover/download.html

Of course it's freeware!
So far so good. The test of time will tell.
