Thanks for the tip. I already have jv16. I think the registry cleaner in RegScrub is safer for the novice. I am impressed. It doesnt mess w/my norton nis or sysworks. On first use after cleaning up w/my other utils first RegScrub cleared 290MB!!! Still keeping jv16 though.

On a personal note. I tried using RegScrubXP 3.2 a few days ago. Then I tried to use Spider (cleans out index.dat files). Using them together does not work. Apparently the use of RegScrubXP disables you from cleaning out index.dat files. Just a pre-caution, if you use Spider, don't use RegScrub and if you use RegScrub don't use Spider. Either way, Spider will not work.

Responding to Quigley about Spider & RegScrub. I noticed the same thing. Thing is every once in a while Spider still works. This happens sometimes on a fresh reboot or after a lot of surfing on the net. If anyone can pin down a fix, let me know. TY

TinyResMeter

Why TinyResMeter ?

- It is not the nicest Resource Monitor on the market.
- It is not the most complete.
- It has no wonderfull graphical display.
- It has no nice installer.
...But...
- It do not use any installer that could increase EXE size, once downloaded you can use it immediately.
- It is the smallest executable ever made with such features.
- It can be simple copied and executed into any machine with no need of installation procedure.
- It uses a very small place on your screen.

I find samurize to be a pain in the ass...banghead.gif lol reading forums/logs and stuff finding the proper GUI, not very fun... i have to admit if the site was redesigned a bit it could be popular as themexp, and the software included with a better readme file and some skinz would be nice too , i'm sticking with last sys mon, some1 posted...

i have the smartbar xp beta 3 installed (longhorn look alike) (lags like hell, and not particularly interesting, the mymail feature does not work, and the weather is only for nextday: no other future forecasts provided. might be cool to look @ but loses functionality)

currently using rainlender and the above mentioned sysmon, w/ stylexp, and icons from mmicons thx for the links and the titles for the software darken.

This application automates the task of changing your Windows XP product key. Doing this manually is quite a nuisance.

user posted image

Simply enter your new valid XP product key (e.g. XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX) into the field provided, and apply pressure to the 'Change Key' button. The operation performs the following tasks:

Modifies a certain registry value to trick Windows into thinking it has not been activated.
Makes backups of all your OS's existing activation script files.
Copies modified versions of these activation scripts to the appropriate locations.
Executes the Windows Activation Wizard (system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a).
Waits for the Wizard to complete (The wizard will run automatically and completely because of the modified scripts.)
Rolls back the original script files to their original locations.
Removes temporary directories and scripts created during the process.

This entire operation should take only a few seconds on a moderately quick machine. Once the operation is complete, your copy of Windows XP has been activated using your new key.

Note: You must reboot Windows for this to take effect.
