I use AnyDVD and Intervideo DVD Copy 2 Platinum. Stick DVD in, wait 30 seconds, press copy, wait, put in blank, wait, done. No fuss, no muss, no screwing around for hours figuring out software.

Try Smart Ripper found here!

I have NO idea why anyone would use an old-style VOB decrypter rather than AnyDVD. Do you enjoy wasting hours of time copying and decrypting?

DVDShrink works very well for me... only because I usually just want ISO output, rather than wasting a DVD-R on a copied movie right then and there.

yes.gif

I do that sometimes, but usually I'll use Alcohol 120% to make an image and then shrink it later by mounting it and using IV DVD Copy 2 while I'm burning it. That way I don't waste a disc if I decide that I don't really want to keep the movie.

Using freeware to pirate movies? Kinda ironic, don't you think? laugh.gif

lol, I guess it is, but hey, no-one said anything about copying
original movies laugh.gif

Heh, how far back can we take it, an illegal OS, running illegal
DVD copying software, accessing pr0n sites illegally.

Hmmm, I wonder who that sounds like ?

Hey, probably just about us all! laugh.gif

check out www.videohelp.com. They have great resources for dvd to dvdr. Personally, I use dvd auto shrink which is a simple .exe that simplifies running dvd shrink and dvd decrypter (which need to be installed as well) Just install these three programs, launch autoshrink and you're set. Anydvd in theory is good but I've had issues with playback. The autoshrink solution is much more reliable.

True, but if we weren't taking about piracy, we wouldn't need a decryptor, now would we wink.gif

I used to work for a video duplication center while I was in college. No matter what anyone tells you it's legal to make one backup copy of any piece of copyrighted material you own no matter what the medium.

The DMCA and Fair Use laws conflict on this point. The lawyers for the RIAA and MPAA disagree with you.

I prefer to use dvd decrypter and then use Pinnacle Studio to shrink them. the quality is AMAZING.

EDIT, sorry i do NOT use pinnacle STUDIO, i use pinnacle INSTANT COPY. got the names messed up there tongue.gif

I just use DVD Decrypter to get the data. To burn it... I guess nero? Everytime I rip a DVD I forget to burn it anyways. ermm.gif
