Does anyone know how I might be able to create a custom install for VNC? I have a remote user running windows 98 who's computer I have to work on. VNC would be ideal for this but I don't know that I could talk her through installation and configuration, she is just a user.

Well the installation is pretty straight forward, so I would just run it at the same time to match what she's seeing.
However, her being "just a user" doesn't matter. On Win98 everyone's an Administrator.

how about you set it up, copy the files installed to a zip file, dump the installed/configged reg settings to a .REG file, add that to the zip and make it self-extracting. WinRar supports scripting so you can automatically copy the files to their location and merge the reg file all at once

I only meant "user" as in someone who doesn't know what she's doing, not as in a security group. I guess either way if I am going to try and walk her though it or create a .reg I'm going to have to find a windows 9x cd and install a virtual machine.

I wondered if that's what you meant by that. Good luck then Arctirus.
