Okay, recently I re-installed Windows on a new Partition, and I got rid of the old windows ver. (The partition I Formatted). I installed all the programs i had but when I got to Office, it wont install. Theres a particular file which is "corrupted" on the CD. the error message is, cannot find file or something, whereas its right there ! then I tried to copy it to my desktp and figured its corrupted.
File is, CP561401.CAB.
So if someone thinks they can 'help' me get this file, PM me Please. its just 2.5MBs.

Another problem, since Office was already installed on my previous Windows, (Im yet to format that partition), I still have all the program files/Windows Folder/Docs. and Settings, and I was browsing through on Office11 Folder and MS Word opened and then error message : "Office isnt installed for the current user"
So does anyone know if theres something I can do to that?
I thought maybe a settings file in my documents and settings folder?

Thanks. Im really stressing here, I have to work on Excel and my OFFXP CD is gone missing ohmy.gif sad.gif

ok the second bit i can fix quite easliy this is to do wiv a activation file that is not in the correct directory.

Correct Directory : C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\Data

in the folder there should be 3 files ; data.dat and OPA11.BAK and opa11.dat

these files insure that Office2k3 is activated for all users, so wot u need to do is find those files and move them into the correct directory, and then office should work.

as for the file gimme a ftp to upload it to and i will smile.gif

edit* ok ive just checked and ive got 4 version of that file , cuz ive got the whole office 2k3 (AIO system pro) , not just main office and all the files are excactly 2,430 KB big, im assumin u want the file that is stored in the OFFICEENT2K3 (which is just the main office) smile.gif

Since you have a yahoo e-mail, I'll e-mail you the file right now smile.gif
Hasin
thanks so co, but it seems about 50% of the files are corrupted.
So i'll try singh 400's way

Singh, I dont really understand what to do.
I found the 3 files, they are in (On my comp.):
F:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\Data

My copy of Windows and the Office11 files are on F:\

so if I understand you correctly, they're already in the correct file.

Or do I have to create a new directory, (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\Data) and copy those files?
anyway, i'l try that.

yeh but my way only fixes the :

i wud recommed that u re-download office2k3 by ArabsGates (torrent) , thats where i got mine biggrin.gif
Hasin
yeah i know. Read my last post.
and yes also, I installed OfficeXP before reading your reply.
So that could be the problem, that the Office11 files got over written?

If so, i'l provide an ftp if you can kindly upload your (those 3 activation) files

Thanks a lot smile.gif

^^^^thats the right^^^^ location as long as u installed office 2k3 to the F:\ Drive

and wiv regards to the activations, i dont think i can cuz their in my name, other wise i wud!! smile.gif

also u cud try this:

1) remove all offices version (2k3, xp , 2000 etc) , including extra componets. then delete everything that is linked to the office files , like the stuff in Program Files and Common Files.
2) use a registry cleaner to remove the left of keys of the office(s) , i recommened RegSupreme
3) use the windows installer clean up utlity to remove any left over compontes that refused to uninstall, after this step you will be able to remove them.
4) reboot and reinstall Office again
Hasin
I would re-install office,
but if I could I wouldnt start this thread

EDIT: Can I try your files anyway?
its going to be in the All Users folder so does it matter?
Singh400
m8 in all seriuosness i dont think using my activations files are goin to work , seeing as ive got the whole of office 2k3 (system pro) and not just main office (word, excel, powerpoint, publisher, access, outlook)

soz, like u sed '50% of the files are corrupt' so that mains u wud have to redownload the whole thing, which i have suggested!

Does it do ths is more than 1 computer? Have you cleaned the drive and cleaned/repaired the cd ever?
Hasin
I dont know how to repair any CD. I know of CD Cleaners but I only ever used lens cleaners.
I have No idea on hardware. Can you help?
Also, if you know ANY way on how to create .Cab Cabinet files, I can fix the whole problem and create a new Backup CD
RedDragon100

Hi RedDragon,

As you see, what I sent to hAsin didn't really work, so let's not waste time doing that. wink.gif

Have you tried installing Office 2k3 on another computer? If it gets the same error, then your copy is probably bad.
