Finally, I have a tuner and computer combination that seems to work -- computer I bought from Diffused_Mind™, MCE 2005, EVGA NVTV.

Question: It's a silicon tuner, so why am I getting the same quality as my analog tuners?

In the past, digital tuners have had issues with picture quality because they didn't take into account the variations in signal, but improvements have been made as of late and I haven't heard anything bad in a while. Chances are you'll be good.

biggrin.gif The picture quality is affected by three things: your input signal, how well the tuner "sticks" the channel frequency, and the encoder chip on the TV card. If the signal is what's causing your problems, the new card will probably have the same issues. If it's the tuner or encoder, could be better or could be worse. It being a silicon tuner probably won't make much difference, tho.

Damn, cuz I watch channels 52 and 53 often

I'm very new to MCE and have installed it on one of my older computers. Can you play DVD's from within the MCE app? Can you get the MCE my movies folder to recognize VOB files?

I can play a DVD from Media player however I can not get Media player to play a VOB file from my hard drive any help would be good.
