I guessed this belongs in here as it isn't strictly a Windows thing. This is how I'm set up on my taskbar
CODE
Quick Launch - Running Programs
MSVDM - Address Bar - WMP
I like my setup it helps me do little things faster, especialy accessing webpages and local folders. But I want to make it even more efficient. I noticed a long time ago that if I typed the name of a shortcut in the address bar, it would take me to that url. But because I'm a pretty organised person everywhere except favourites when it comes to folder structure etc. I never noticed that this behaviour disapears when you move a favourite into a subfolder of favourites (when you organise favourites). I would like to sort out my cluttered favourites and still use this handy feature.

So in short the question is, does anybody know how to get items in subfolders of favourites to be accessible via the address bar like they would be if they were in the favourites folder.

Don't know if it can be done as I think the IE uses index.dat for storing
these drop-down list values.

I know IE stores it's most recently visited sites here

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs

You could add your own, but I think only 25 are allowed and any new sites you
visit will overwrite the previous ones huh.gif

But telling the drop down arrow to show you a list of your internet explorer favourites? Well I dunno wacko.gif

Someone else?

*edit* or you create a new toolbar and point it to your favourites folder?

If you start to type out the file name of a .url file in thats in the root of your favourites folder it auto-completes it for you, but not for any .url files which are stored in a sub-folder of favourites, which is just annoying me now.
