I don't use BT, but try their FAQ to resolve some of these questions.

1.) Is it possible to disable uploading in bittorrent?

No, the whole point of P2P is SHARING. you can limit it, but it's proportional to your download speed. So the more upload, the faster download.

4.) Whats the best bittorrent program to use?

I use ABC. It's based on Shadows experimental client. Plus it's got a really nice GUI. n00b friendly.

As for hiding your IP, I'm not sure if you can. Anyone else wanna confirm this?

theres afew programs that'll block queries to your ip by unfriendly ip addresses. however they're pretty system intensive, you also have to maintain the ip addresses that're blocked by yourself... quite the pain in the ass.

if you dont know about proxy servers then you dont have one (not an anonymous web proxy)

no, if your worried about riaa/mpaa then dont use it

you cant hide your ip address, its there to stay (you can use proxies though)

if you're worried about privacy, don't use p2p. everything has its insecurities. i know someone who is getting sued by colombia for movie pirating. unless it was a lie
