on ie, whenever i click a link to download something (exe, zip, etc) it just starts downloading it into cache and when done, opens it. this annoys the fuck out of me. how do i set it so that it'll prompt me with the "save as" dialog so i can tell it where i want to save the file and what not. thanks.

Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > File Types > ZIP > Advanced > "Confirm open after download"

If that's unchecked, IE will download and open the file without giving you the Save option.
