2d or 3d animation?
for 2d, macromedia flash comes to mind (very capable of multimedia stuff)
as for 3d, ive only a limited experience with Maya. It does cool modeling, but im not sure about particle fx (fireworks) or sound with the animation

You should go for 3dsmax, and/or Maya for modelling (and texturing) 3D animations. Otherwise, Macromedia Flash like qA just told you.
Isn't my post kind of pointless, qA already answered the same
