My friend asked me to record a demo tape (or CD in this modern age) of his band. Ive worked with editing audio before, but nothing that was ever going to be released for production quality. Ive used Windows Media (Endcoder, movie maker, everything...) and MixMeister before. Im gonna want to record straight into WAV files (as they are the highest quality) (HDD space is _not_ an issue). I have a sound blaster Extigy (capable of 24 bit recording) being used in conjunction witha mixing board and assorted hardware stuff, and i want to take advantage of that feature (using all 24 bits). Has anyone used a good recording studio (or even a single standalone app) that can output a high quality WAV? From there, i can take the wavs and thrown them into mixmeister to mix, enhance, and overlay the recordings.
If anyone has suggestions for a recording program or even a full studio that may be able to help, please let me know.
Also, what have you found to be the best editor for removing noise (hiss/clicks/etc.)
