You do realize Firefox block almost all popups? Or do you mean banners?

just popups and other ads that's inside your computer instead of that pops of websites.
the popups that in the computer would definately slow down computer. while i am selling computer and i do not want my client or costumer use other than standard ms explorer. i need to know their extentions and i would simply have them on my file very eay and there fore ads free, and any popup blocker would block most web popups, but they do not block the pops in the computer software
so... that;s what i would need to know. and i will for sure share with you what i have get as a result. even though, it still does not mean any i mean anything at all for now
see that's not good about popup blocker. some website have music files linked on another popup page, what popup software say is, you shoul dnot listen to musics! or otherwise, will just get a blackout when popup blocker is off

AD-Muncher is probably the best popup blocking software there is it blocks every kind of add and annoyance possible
recommended
Other possible ext's are:
.vbs, .bat, and .pif i believe. Hope that helps.

To tell you the truth, I have had no trouble with popups with Firefox. Maybe one here and there, but rarely. And I don't think you'll get all the popup files downloaded with Firefox. But good luck.

now here is what i do! not sure if you guys agree, whether or not, please reply. since files like those are downloaded automatically, there's really nothing much we can do to block them totally. so i do this
i setup a download software, mine is DAP, and i set download automatically awithout info page, without complete message. and download to my document. and all file formats are put in the window where says formats supported, and set option for same name file in same downlaod target to be renamed. so your own files won't get overwrited.
here is what happen. when a website tries to automatically download, the software actually accelerats and download the file, and save to the target my document, since it is not in the where the site want it go to, when the site tries to extract the file, it was never there, therefore, the ads softwares was never installed, maybe it downloaded like 20 times a day, but it will be in my document, maybe i will have to clean 2000 files a week, but it is in same fold and i can simply delete. not to scan for ads and all that, and there's no need for a thrid party software to slow a bit down the speed.
now i need your opinion on this, cause i just start, i am pretty sure there's some DEFECTs about it.
thanks, reply amap (as much as possible)
You need to download "Ad-Aware" and "Spybot" to get rid of all these programs causing the trouble,

i have tried ad-aware and spybot, what happen is , with ad-aware 1.5 it actually blocked me from loggin back into my windows, it load and log off automatically, so it created a problem for me, but what these software do is, they clean but not totally clean, the ads will comeback really really soon, even if you do not going to any website, an keep your explorer security to default. so that's why i do not want to use these software. because ads are comming back automatically within 2 days.

that means the problem is really deeply embedded in your system. It's probably time to reformat.

So you've reformatted, disconnected yourself from the internet physically, and yet you still get ads and popups? If that's what I'm hearing, then you might need a new copy of windows.
Now, what I recommend doing is reinstalling Windows. Then, immediately install Firefox. Use Firefox for everything unless internet explorer is mandatory. When you install something, make sure it's clean. Install an anti-virus.
Follow those steps and nothing can get in. If you still get things, then no offense, but it's your own fault and you need to look at your habits to figure out where the problem lies.
