Guys, im using Diskeeper for long time since version 7, and since i got v8 i started to notice slow in the system while im using it or while its service running in the background, this thing heppen in more than one machine, even if i like its featuers so much but i dont like this performance, anyone else noticed the same with it?, and is there any better defragmenter you recommend for me ?

Yeah, same thing happens here when the engine is running. But you have to remember it's eating up a lot of resources and taking a lot of I/O time defragging your hd. Just tell it to defrag at night when you aren't activily using your PC.

Or set Diskeeper 8 to run in screensaver mode. That way, it will only defrag when screensaver is running.

I noticed the same. So, I took out STARTUP command within msconfig, it does not slow down my pc. Only when I want to defrag - i do run :0)

I was doing the same, i also disabled the service but i just find its sucks to re enable it everytime when i need to defrag, anyway thanks RATMFan, ill back to perfect disk i was using it sometime ago as well but i think i stopped using it when i got SP2 first beta cause it was have aome conflicts with it.
