Windows Media Player 10 tries to "sync" with the iPod whenever I connect the iPod to my computer. I want to turn off this automatic behavior. Is there any way to prevent Windows Media Player from automatically detecting devices?

isnt there an item in control panel concerning usb devices or maybe it in audio and also in the tools > options there is a place for devices in WMP10. I think you can control behaviour there.

I did check the devices tab under WMP 10 options. There wasn't any option to turn off autodetecting of devices.

might be in the iPod's properties or something, called something like default handler or something, goodluck.
